During the current crisis we are unable to meet unless virtually. With many theatres and venues unsure as to when they will reopen, we have started to make some plans about what the remainder of the 2019/2020 season will look like, and how we approach the 2020/2021 season.
During lockdown we have created a virtual Burnham Trophy - which is our biennial original one-act play competition. (Link will soon be on our website). This was as preparation for a larger scale competition in the coming months.
We will, as soon as we get back into the Curzon Centre, be filming our production of Hamlet (whilst observing social distancing) to be streamed in late October. This is quite an undertaking for any amateur society, but we are confident that we can deliver a quality production, albeit on YouTube, rather than live on stage. Details will be made available soon.
We will be using Hamlet as a vehicle to understand how we can perform Panto this year. We will be staging a small cast, short version of Panto in December which we will stream on our YouTube channel, and supply free to Care homes and NHS Children's Wards locally. And in April, assuming we are back to some kind of normal, open our doors with a full-blown Panto at Easter.
In May 2021 we will present the virtual Burnham Trophy to mark the end of our 50th year, including a gala night in celebration. Again, assuming we are able.
We have exciting plans for July, which we will share with you all as soon as we can!
Work also starts soon on a new version of Animal Farm which is being created exclusively for The Young Theatre.
Many thanks for your continued support. We will be back!

ROUND THE WORLD WITH CLASS 6
ONLINE: we are working to get the rights to show our 2020 Festival production.
ONLINE: If we are unable to perform live this December we are preparing a live stream of a panto for December. If you have a favourite, let us know. We'll do the one with most requests. We will also stream free to local care homes and children's homes/wards.
BEAUTY AND THE BEAST
LIVE: We are hopeful that we will be back and working as near to normally as possible next Easter. So we thought we'd start with a Christmas favourite... at Easter!
